Like resveratrol found in grapes, pterostilbene assists your body to be more efficient at breaking down your fats and cholesterol. If your body has the ability to easily process fat, cholesterol won’t build up in your body or cause your heart to have problems. That, basically, helps your heart be in tip-top shape.

Fish is just about the healthiest food you can include in your diet. Experts recommend that you eat fish at least twice a week. This is particularly true for people with heart problems. Fish is a good food for your heart because it contains a lot of Omega 3 fatty acids, which help  your body to break down unhealthy cholesterol. So, try including fish in at least two of your meals per week.

Heart Healthy Foods #4 – Apples

Do you remember hearing the old saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”? It turns out, there is more truth to this home health advice than most people realize.  Apples have many minerals and elements that help  keep your heart healthy. They are rich in soluble fiber that works sort of like a scrub brush on your artery walls and prevent  cholesterol build up on artery walls. One red apple every day can make your LDL cholesterol levels decrease by as much as 8%! That’s a fantastic number if you’re endeavoring to improve your heart health!
